Suggested Use:
Have students refer to books, websites, and videos on the planets to record information.
List information that you want students to include in their report on the board, for example, planet’s distance from the sun, average temperature, number of moons (refer to rubric).

Students will research information on the selected subject, Greta Thunberg.
The flipbook is used to collate information on the subject. It will also be the first
draft whereby students will self edit and peer edit and publish from.
Students will publish their writing on given templates.
Display students’ research on the bulletin board.

This flipbook will help your students practise essential research skills while
writing an interesting biography on Greta Thunberg.
Have your students write a research report on an Australian Animal with this hands-on digital resource. REQUIREMENTS
This is a digital resource and can be used with google drive, Microsoft one drive and google slides.
Both teacher and students need to create a google account or a one drive account. This is a free service and is easy to set up.

HOW I USED THE PACKS IN THIS BUNDLE:
♦ For each 32 scoot pack, you may break up the activity and have students do cards 1-16 during one session and 17-32 the next. There are 2 recording sheets for this purpose.
♦ I generally have cards 1-16 placed on one section of the classroom walls, and cards 17-32 on the opposite side. Students solve at their own pace. This is to cater to all; students who would perhaps need more time and the early finishers.
There is so much fun and excitement as kids walk around the classroom solving the cards. They seem to be racing to finish them all :)
PREPARATION:

EVIDENCE OF LEARNING

You can also have this as a silent activity where students move around quietly solving all the task cards without the teacher calling out ‘scoot’.
At the culmination of the activity, project the cards on the interactive whiteboard and discuss the answers with the class. Alternatively, place answer sheets at a Centre for students to self-check.

ACTIVITY
Place the 32 QR Code Cards around the classroom. Students can work individually, in pairs, or in small groups to find the answers to all 32 questions on their recording sheets. They must scan the QR Code to find the answer for each corresponding question on their recording sheets. Students make an educated guess about the possible answer prior to scanning.

** These cards will assess students’ prior knowledge or alternatively pique their interest for them to want to scan the code to reveal the answer. Some cards also have picture clues (without giving away too much) to set up students for success.
ONLINE SECURITY
Once a QR code is scanned, students are not directed to a website but rather to a text only link. If the QR Code Reader app attempts to display the answer with a web browser, choose the option of view in ‘plain text’ in settings/preferences.
